Oil Coolers - Engine Room Consumables and Spares

Marine oil coolers are heat exchangers that remove heat from lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, or gear oil using seawater, freshwater, or engine-cooling water. They help maintain oil viscosity, lubrication performance, and equipment operating temperature.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Oil Coolers for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Pressure-bearing designs may be manufactured and tested to ASME BPVC Section VIII or EN 13445, as specified by the manufacturer and project. Materials and testing may also follow applicable ASTM, EN, or ISO requirements. Certification must be verified against the supplied unit.
Class Approval Where required for classed vessels, approval or acceptance may involve DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, or ClassNK. Applicability depends on cooler service, pressure, installation, and vessel-class requirements; verify the maker's certificate.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install according to the manufacturer's flow-direction, pressure, temperature, and mounting requirements. Fit isolation valves, strainers where specified, vents, drains, and correctly rated gaskets. Flush piping before connection and prevent seawater and oil cross-contamination.
Maintenance Tips Monitor oil temperature, cooling-water flow, differential pressure, and leakage. Inspect and clean plates or tubes at scheduled intervals, renew damaged gaskets, check sacrificial anodes where fitted, and pressure-test after overhaul according to manufacturer instructions.
Safety Notes Isolate, depressurize, drain, and cool the equipment before removal. Use suitable PPE for hot oil, seawater, chemicals, and cleaning agents. Confirm correct pressure ratings and leak-test the cooler before returning the system to service.
