Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable standards may include ASME B16.21 for nonmetallic flat gaskets, EN 1514-1 for dimensions of flanges and gaskets, and EN 13555 for gasket performance testing. Actual compliance depends on the selected manufacturer and grade.
Class Approval PTFE gasket material is not universally class-approved as a generic item. Acceptance may be subject to DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK requirements for the specific vessel system and application.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify gasket material, dimensions, pressure rating, temperature rating and flange standard before installation. Clean and inspect flange faces, align the gasket centrally, and tighten bolts in a controlled cross-pattern using the specified torque.
Maintenance Tips Replace after dismantling unless the manufacturer permits reuse. Inspect removed gaskets for creep, extrusion, cracking, chemical attack or permanent deformation. Keep spare gaskets clean, dry, flat and protected from heat and sunlight.
Safety Notes Depressurize, drain and isolate the system before replacement. Confirm compatibility with the fluid and operating temperature. Do not use PTFE gaskets where pressure, temperature, flange movement or chemical conditions exceed the selected grade limits.
