Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common dimensional standards include ISO 4184, ISO 1813, DIN 2215, DIN 2217 and ASAE S211. Oil-resistant, antistatic and heat-resistant properties depend on the selected belt construction and manufacturer specification.
Class Approval V-belts generally do not have independent DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK type approval. Acceptance is normally based on machinery OEM requirements, approved materials and the vessel's classification and maintenance procedures.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm the belt profile, length, number of belts and pulley compatibility from the equipment manual. Inspect pulley alignment and groove condition, install without forcing the belt over the pulley, and set tension according to the belt manufacturer's or machinery OEM's instructions. Replace matched sets together.
Maintenance Tips Inspect regularly for cracking, glazing, fraying, oil contamination and abnormal wear. Check tension and alignment during planned maintenance, keep pulleys clean and dry, and replace belts contaminated by oil or fuel. Do not use belt dressing unless specifically approved by the manufacturer.
Safety Notes Isolate, stop and lock out the machinery before inspection or replacement. Prevent accidental engine starting, allow rotating components to stop, and keep hands, clothing and tools away from moving belts. Do not operate with missing guards or damaged pulleys.
