Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification V-ring dimensions and materials are normally selected according to the manufacturer's catalog and equipment drawings. General rotary-shaft seal references may include ISO 6194 where applicable, but certification depends on the specific product.
Class Approval Individual V-rings are generally not class-approved components. Approval requirements, when applicable, depend on the machinery system, equipment manufacturer and classification society rules.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify shaft diameter, counterface condition, seal profile and material before installation. Clean the shaft and counterface, remove sharp edges, lubricate the sealing lip with compatible lubricant, and stretch the ring evenly without twisting.
Maintenance Tips Inspect during planned machinery maintenance for hardening, cracking, wear, distortion and leakage. Check the counterface for grooves or corrosion and replace the V-ring if damage or loss of elasticity is observed.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out the machinery before installation or inspection. Ensure the shaft cannot rotate, use compatible lubricants and solvents, and keep hands clear of rotating equipment during testing.
