Air Receivers - Auxiliary Machinery and Engine Room

Marine air receivers are pressure vessels that store compressed air for main and auxiliary engine starting, control air, and service air systems. They stabilize pressure, provide reserve capacity, and allow moisture and oil condensate separation.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Air Receivers for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly designed and manufactured to an approved pressure-vessel code such as ASME Section VIII Division 1, EN 13445, or ISO 16528, together with SOLAS II-1 starting-air requirements and applicable flag-state regulations.
Class Approval Design, materials, welding, nondestructive testing, pressure testing, safety devices, and certification may require approval by the vessel's classification society, commonly DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ClassNK, RINA, or CCS.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install vertically or horizontally as approved, using designed supports and adequate access for inspection. Fit an isolation valve, pressure gauge, approved safety valve, non-return connection, and drain at the lowest point. Do not impose piping loads on vessel nozzles.
Maintenance Tips Drain condensate regularly, test drain operation, inspect internally for corrosion and contamination, and check supports, valves, gauges, and safety devices. Perform inspections and pressure testing at intervals required by class, flag, and the approved maintenance plan.
Safety Notes Depressurize, isolate, vent, and verify zero pressure before opening or maintenance. Never isolate or obstruct the safety valve while operating. Treat internal entry as confined-space work and use only approved repair and welding procedures.
