Deaerators - Auxiliary Machinery and Engine Room

A marine deaerator removes dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide and other non-condensable gases from boiler feedwater by heating and steam contact. It reduces corrosion in boilers, economizers, condensate systems and feedwater piping.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Deaerators for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Pressurized deaerator vessels may be designed to ASME BPVC Section VIII, EN 13445 or another applicable pressure-vessel code. Performance testing may reference ASME PTC 12.3. Electrical and pressure components must meet applicable flag-state and marine requirements.
Class Approval Approval is normally project-specific. Pressure vessel design, materials, welding, inspection and safety devices may require acceptance by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK according to the vessel's class rules.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install near the boiler feed system with correctly sized steam, feedwater, vent, overflow, drain and pump-suction connections. Maintain required static head at the feed pump inlet. Fit level controls, pressure indication, relief protection and accessible isolation valves.
Maintenance Tips Inspect spray nozzles, trays, vents and strainers for scale or blockage. Test level and pressure controls, relief devices and alarms periodically. Monitor dissolved oxygen, temperature and chemical-treatment results, and inspect the vessel internally at scheduled intervals.
Safety Notes Isolate steam and water supplies, depressurize, drain and cool before opening. Treat internal entry as confined-space work. Never obstruct the vent or isolate required relief devices, and use caution around hot surfaces, steam and pressurized water.
