Submersible Pumps - Auxiliary Machinery and Engine Room

Submersible pumps are sealed electric pumps used aboard vessels for bilge, ballast-space, tank, cofferdam and engine-room dewatering. Portable and fixed versions handle clean water, contaminated drainage water or solids-bearing wastewater, subject to pump design.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Submersible Pumps for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common applicable standards include ISO 9906 for hydraulic performance testing, IEC 60034 for rotating electrical machines, IEC 60529 for enclosure protection and IEC 60092 for shipboard electrical installations. Compliance depends on the selected model and installation.
Class Approval DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK acceptance may be required for safety-critical or permanently installed ship systems. Type approval is model-specific; verify the manufacturer's certificate and vessel class requirements before procurement.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm voltage, frequency, phase, duty point, liquid temperature and solids size. Suspend portable pumps by the lifting handle or chain, never by the cable. Provide strain relief, correct rotation, suitable level control and class-compliant electrical protection.
Maintenance Tips Inspect the cable, plug, seals, impeller, strainer and lifting arrangement regularly. Remove debris, check insulation resistance and monitor for leakage, vibration or reduced output. Replace mechanical-seal oil and wear parts at manufacturer-specified intervals.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out electrical power before handling. Never operate damaged cables or lift the pump by its cable. Use certified equipment in hazardous areas, ensure effective earthing and do not enter tanks or confined spaces without approved procedures.
