Heat Exchanger Plates - Auxiliary Machinery and Engine Room

Corrugated metal plates form the heat-transfer surface inside gasketed plate heat exchangers used in marine engine rooms. They transfer heat between seawater, freshwater, lubricating oil, fuel oil and HVAC circuits while keeping fluids separated.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Heat Exchanger Plates for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Complete plate heat exchanger assemblies may be supplied to applicable ASME Section VIII, EN 13445 or pressure-equipment requirements. Material certificates such as EN 10204 3.1 may be specified. Compliance depends on exchanger design, operating pressure and contract requirements.
Class Approval DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK approval may be available for the complete heat exchanger when ordered with the required design review, material traceability and pressure testing. Individual replacement plates are not normally class-approved independently.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm exchanger model, plate pattern, material, gasket type and plate orientation. Clean sealing grooves, fit gaskets correctly, alternate plate orientation as specified and tighten the plate pack uniformly to the manufacturer's compression dimension.
Maintenance Tips Inspect plates for fouling, pitting, cracks, deformation and gasket damage. Use compatible chemical or mechanical cleaning methods, avoid scratching sealing surfaces, replace hardened gaskets and pressure-test the assembled exchanger after maintenance.
Safety Notes Isolate, depressurize, drain and cool both circuits before opening the exchanger. Wear suitable PPE for hot fluids, chemicals and sharp plate edges. Do not exceed the specified tightening dimension, pressure, temperature or material compatibility limits.
