Incinerators - Auxiliary Machinery and Engine Room

Marine incinerators are engine-room auxiliary units used to thermally destroy permitted ship-generated sludge oil and solid waste. They reduce onboard waste volume while controlling combustion temperature, emissions and ash handling.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Incinerators for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification MARPOL Annex VI Regulation 16 and IMO Resolution MEPC.244(66), 2014 Standard Specification for Shipboard Incinerators. Electrical, fuel and exhaust arrangements must also comply with applicable flag-state and classification rules.
Class Approval Type approval or product certification may be issued by societies such as DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK. Approval is manufacturer-, model- and configuration-specific and must be verified from the current certificate.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install on a rigid foundation with required service clearances, combustion-air supply, insulated exhaust uptake, fuel and sludge piping, drainage and electrical interlocks. Commission under manufacturer, flag-state and classification requirements.
Maintenance Tips Inspect refractory, burners, nozzles, flame sensors, fans, thermocouples, seals and safety interlocks regularly. Remove ash only after cooling, clean flue passages and use approved spare parts and calibration procedures.
Safety Notes Operate only by trained personnel and burn only wastes permitted by MARPOL and the approved operating manual. Do not bypass interlocks. Use PPE for hot surfaces and ash, maintain ventilation, and isolate fuel and electrical supplies before maintenance.
