Condenser Tubes - Auxiliary Machinery and Engine Room

Marine condenser tubes transfer heat between steam, freshwater, oil or refrigerant and cooling water in engine-room condensers and heat exchangers. Copper-nickel, titanium, stainless steel and brass grades are selected according to seawater conditions, temperature and corrosion risk.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Condenser Tubes for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Copper-alloy tubes commonly comply with ASTM B111/ASME SB-111 or EN 12451. Titanium tubes commonly comply with ASTM B338/ASME SB-338. Stainless-steel heat-exchanger tubes may comply with ASTM A249, A269 or A213, depending on construction and service.
Class Approval Material certificates and class acceptance may be required from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK. Approval depends on vessel class, condenser duty, material grade, manufacturing process and project specification.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm alloy, outside diameter, wall thickness, length and tube-sheet compatibility. Keep tubes clean and undamaged, use the specified rolling or welding procedure, avoid over-expansion, and hydrostatically or pneumatically leak-test the completed bundle.
Maintenance Tips Inspect for fouling, erosion, dezincification, pitting and tube-end leakage. Clean with approved soft brushes or controlled chemical methods, monitor cooling-water velocity and chemistry, and plug or replace defective tubes according to maker and class requirements.
Safety Notes Isolate, drain, depressurize and ventilate the condenser before work. Verify zero pressure and safe temperature, follow confined-space and chemical-cleaning procedures, and use suitable eye, hand and respiratory protection.
