Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly selected and tested in accordance with applicable IEC 60092 ship electrical requirements, IEC 61508 functional-safety requirements, and EN 12952 or EN 12953 boiler protection requirements. Certification depends on the model and system configuration.
Class Approval Type approval may be available from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ClassNK or other societies. Approval must be confirmed for the exact controller, probe, chamber and vessel class requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install probes or external chambers vertically at the boiler maker's specified level datum. Provide correct steam and water connections, isolation arrangements, grounding and heat-rated cabling. Commission by proving indication, feedwater response, alarms and burner trips.
Maintenance Tips Inspect probes, floats and chambers for scale, sludge and corrosion. Blow through external chambers where permitted and periodically test alarms, pump or valve operation, and independent low-water trips according to maker and class schedules.
Safety Notes Depressurize, cool and isolate the boiler before removing probes, chambers or controls. Apply lockout/tagout procedures. Never bypass a low-water cutoff during normal operation, and verify protective trips after maintenance.
