Screw Pumps - Auxiliary Machinery and Engine Room

Marine screw pumps are rotary positive-displacement pumps used for reliable, low-pulsation transfer of lubricating oil, fuel oil and other viscous liquids. Three-screw designs are common in engine-room circulation, transfer and burner-feed systems.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Screw Pumps for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common technical references include API 676 for rotary positive-displacement pumps and ISO 14847 for rotary positive-displacement pump requirements. Materials, flanges, motors and testing must comply with the vessel specification and applicable flag-state and class rules.
Class Approval Type approval or product certification may be available from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK, depending on manufacturer, model and vessel requirements. Approval must be verified for the exact pump configuration.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install on a rigid, level foundation and align pump and driver accurately. Keep suction piping short and unrestricted, verify rotation, fit suitable strainers, and provide a correctly sized relief valve returning to a safe low-pressure point.
Maintenance Tips Monitor pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, leakage and noise. Clean suction strainers, inspect seals, couplings and bearings, maintain fluid cleanliness, and follow the manufacturer's overhaul clearances and lubrication instructions.
Safety Notes Never operate against a closed discharge or isolate the relief path. Avoid dry running unless specifically permitted. Lock out the driver, depressurize, drain and cool the pump before maintenance; use precautions for hot oil, fuel, fire and rotating equipment.
