Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification System design and installation commonly follow ISO 5149 or EN 378 for refrigeration safety and environmental requirements. Electrical equipment may follow applicable IEC standards. Refrigerant, pressure equipment and machinery requirements depend on vessel flag, location and system design.
Class Approval Marine compressor packages may be supplied with type approval or product certification from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK. Approval is manufacturer, model, refrigerant and application specific; verify the current certificate and vessel class requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Mount on a rigid, aligned foundation with suitable vibration isolation. Confirm refrigerant, oil, rotation, electrical supply, pipe cleanliness and suction-discharge connections. Evacuate, leak-test and commission according to the manufacturer and vessel class requirements.
Maintenance Tips Monitor oil level and pressure, suction and discharge pressures, temperatures, vibration and leakage. Clean strainers and heat exchangers, inspect valves and seals, and replace oil, filters and worn parts at manufacturer-specified intervals.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out electrical power before work. Recover refrigerant using approved equipment and fully depressurize the system before opening. Provide ventilation, use appropriate PPE and never bypass pressure, temperature or oil-safety controls.
