Cooling Pipes - Auxiliary Machinery and Engine Room

Cooling pipes circulate seawater, fresh water or treated coolant between marine engines, heat exchangers and auxiliary machinery. Materials are selected for pressure, temperature, corrosion resistance and compatibility with the vessel's piping system.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Cooling Pipes for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common standards include ASTM B466 for seamless copper-nickel tube and pipe, ASTM A106 for seamless carbon steel pipe, ASTM A312 for stainless steel pipe, ASME B36.10M/B36.19M for dimensions, and EN 1092-1 or ASME B16.5 for flanges. Welding procedures may follow ISO 15614 or ASME Section IX.
Class Approval Materials, welding procedures, pressure testing and installation may require approval under DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK rules. Approval is vessel-, service- and manufacturer-specific; material certificates such as EN 10204 Type 3.1 or 3.2 may be required.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select pipe material, diameter, schedule and joint type from approved drawings. Provide adequate supports, flexibility, drainage and venting. Avoid galvanic contact between dissimilar metals, use compatible gaskets and fittings, and hydrostatically test and flush the completed system.
Maintenance Tips Inspect regularly for corrosion, erosion, leakage, vibration damage and support failure. Monitor coolant chemistry and seawater velocity, clean deposits from lines and heat exchangers, renew damaged coatings or insulation, and replace thinned sections using approved materials.
Safety Notes Isolate, depressurize, drain and cool the system before work. Follow hot-work and confined-space procedures where applicable. Wear suitable PPE, verify valve isolation, and never loosen joints on a pressurized or hot cooling circuit.
