Hydraulic Accumulators - Auxiliary Machinery and Engine Room

Gas-charged hydraulic accumulators store hydraulic energy, absorb pressure pulsations and compensate for leakage or emergency demand. They are widely used in engine-room and deck hydraulic systems, steering gear and auxiliary machinery.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Hydraulic Accumulators for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly designed to EN 14359 and installed within hydraulic systems conforming to ISO 4413. PED 2014/68/EU or ASME BPVC Section VIII certification may apply according to vessel jurisdiction, accumulator size, pressure and selected product variant.
Class Approval Marine type approval or product certification may be available from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK. Approval is manufacturer-, model- and pressure-rating-specific and must be verified against the vessel's class requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install in the specified orientation using approved clamps, a safety block, isolation valve, pressure relief device and drain connection. Verify pressure rating, fluid compatibility and nitrogen pre-charge before commissioning. Keep the gas valve accessible.
Maintenance Tips Check pre-charge pressure, external leakage, corrosion, mounting security and bladder or seal condition at scheduled intervals. Use only compatible hydraulic fluid and replace damaged valves, seals or bladders with approved parts.
Safety Notes Treat the accumulator as a pressure vessel. Isolate and fully depressurize the hydraulic side before service, then safely release the gas charge when required. Charge only with dry nitrogen using approved equipment; never use oxygen or compressed air.
