Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common requirements include IEC 60529 for ingress protection and IEC 60079 for explosion-protected versions. Alarm-system installation may also be governed by SOLAS, IMO requirements and IEC 60092. Certification depends on the exact model and configuration.
Class Approval Marine type approval is model-specific. Selected alarm sounders may be approved or accepted by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK; the current manufacturer certificate must be verified for the ordered voltage, enclosure and hazardous-area version.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Match the rated voltage, current, tone and environmental protection to the alarm circuit. Mount securely, keep the sound outlet unobstructed, use approved cable glands and maintain enclosure sealing. Hazardous-area units must follow certified installation drawings.
Maintenance Tips Test alarm operation periodically, clean the sound outlet, inspect terminals, glands, seals and enclosure corrosion, and confirm that sound level remains adequate above machinery noise. Replace damaged seals or degraded units with approved equivalents.
Safety Notes Isolate electrical power before wiring or servicing. Use hearing protection during close-range testing of high-output sounders. Do not open explosion-protected equipment while energized or in a hazardous atmosphere.
