Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include IEC 60092-306 for marine electrical installations and IEC 60598-1 for luminaires. IEC 60598-2-5 may apply to floodlight-type luminaires. Exact compliance depends on design, installation location and vessel specification.
Class Approval Type approval or product acceptance may be available from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK for specific marine luminaires. Approval is model- and application-dependent and should be verified from the manufacturer's certificate.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify voltage, wattage, mounting arrangement, beam distribution and hazardous-area requirements before installation. Use marine-rated cable glands, properly sized conductors and corrosion-resistant fasteners. Ensure the enclosure gasket and cable entries remain correctly sealed.
Maintenance Tips Clean the lens periodically with fresh water and a non-abrasive cleaner. Inspect housing, lens, cable glands, terminals and mounting hardware for corrosion, water ingress or looseness. Replace damaged seals and confirm illumination during routine inspections.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out electrical power before installation or servicing. Confirm compatibility with the vessel supply and hazardous-area classification where applicable. Do not operate with a cracked lens, damaged cable entry or compromised enclosure.
