Pressure Switches - Electrical, Lighting and Power

Marine pressure switches are electromechanical devices that monitor fluid or gas pressure and open or close an electrical circuit at an adjustable set point. They are used in shipboard pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, cooling systems, fire systems and machinery alarms.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Pressure Switches for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include IEC 60092 for electrical installations in ships and IEC 60947-5-1 for low-voltage control-circuit devices. CE marking, IP rating and EMC compliance depend on the specific product and market. Verify the manufacturer datasheet.
Class Approval Class approval is product- and application-specific. Marine-approved variants may be available with DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK documentation. Approval must be confirmed for the exact model, pressure range, enclosure and installation location.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm pressure range, set point, differential, process connection, contact rating and enclosure protection before installation. Install in the correct pressure line using compatible sealing materials, isolate and depressurize the system, and wire according to the manufacturer diagram and vessel electrical drawings.
Maintenance Tips Inspect periodically for leakage, corrosion, vibration damage and loose terminals. Verify switching pressure against a calibrated gauge during planned maintenance and replace damaged seals or switches. Do not adjust sealed or calibrated units without approved procedures.
Safety Notes Isolate electrical power and release system pressure before servicing. Never exceed the rated pressure, temperature, electrical load or contact category. Use suitable marine-approved cable glands and bonding or grounding arrangements, and confirm that the switch is appropriate for the connected fluid.
