Cable Markers - Electrical, Lighting and Power

Marine cable markers identify and trace power, lighting, control, instrumentation, and communication cables on ships and offshore installations. They are supplied as heat-shrink sleeves, clip-on markers, wrap-around labels, or terminal-block marker cards, using materials selected for vibration, moisture, oil, and flame resistance.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Cable Markers for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Requirements may include IEC 60092-504 for special features of marine electrical installations, IEC 60092-101 for electrical installations, IEC 60684 for insulating sleeving, and applicable flame, smoke, and halogen-free requirements. Certification is product- and material-specific.
Class Approval Marine acceptance is product-specific and may require DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, or ClassNK approval or accepted material documentation. Verify the exact marker material, printing system, and certificate against the vessel's class requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the marker diameter or size for the cable and identification method. Install heat-shrink markers before terminating connectors, then shrink evenly with a controlled hot-air tool. Apply clip-on or wrap-around markers to clean, dry cable surfaces and maintain clear identification at both ends.
Maintenance Tips Inspect markers during cable surveys for fading, loosening, cracking, abrasion, heat damage, and contamination. Replace illegible or damaged markers and maintain identification records after cable modifications.
Safety Notes Isolate, lock out, and verify de-energization before working on electrical cables. Use heat tools in ventilated areas and follow the marker manufacturer's temperature limits. Do not damage cable insulation or use open flames near fuel, vapour, or other combustible materials.
