Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common references include IEC 60092-350, IEC 60092-351, IEC 60092-353, IEC 60092-359 and IEC 60092-376. Fire-performance requirements may include IEC 60332-1, IEC 60332-3-22, IEC 60754 and IEC 61034. Actual compliance depends on cable construction and certification.
Class Approval Marine cable products may be type-approved or accepted by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, RINA and ClassNK. Approval is product-specific and should be verified from the manufacturer's certificate and vessel class requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select conductor size, voltage rating, screening, armour and fire rating from the approved cable schedule. Maintain minimum bending radius, separate instrumentation cables from high-power circuits, terminate screens as specified, and use approved glands, lugs and transit systems.
Maintenance Tips Inspect cable routes, glands, supports and terminations for abrasion, moisture ingress, heat damage and looseness. Test insulation resistance and circuit continuity during planned maintenance, using test voltages appropriate to connected equipment.
Safety Notes Isolate, lock out and verify circuits before handling. Confirm the cable voltage and fire classification before replacement. Do not mix screened instrumentation and power wiring without an approved segregation arrangement, and use only compatible marine glands and termination materials.
