Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification DIN ISO 2936 specifies dimensions and technical requirements for hexagon socket screw keys. Manufacturer-specific tool quality and material requirements may also apply. Hex keys generally do not require product certification for ordinary hand-tool use.
Class Approval Normally not subject to separate DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK type approval when supplied as general-purpose hand tools. Use onboard may be subject to the vessel's safety management system and approved-tool requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the exact key size to fully engage the fastener socket. Insert the key completely before applying torque, and use the long or short arm according to access and torque requirements. Do not use an extension unless the tool manufacturer permits it.
Maintenance Tips Keep keys clean, dry, and lightly protected against corrosion. Inspect for rounded ends, cracks, bending, or damaged surface treatment. Remove damaged keys from service and store metric and imperial sets separately.
Safety Notes Wear eye protection and suitable hand protection. Do not hammer, heat, or use cheater bars on standard hex keys unless specifically designed for that purpose. Confirm the fastener is isolated and depressurized where required before maintenance.
