Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification IEC 60974-1 for arc-welding power sources; IEC 60974-10 for electromagnetic compatibility; IEC 60974-6 for limited-duty portable welding power sources where applicable. Local electrical and shipboard requirements also apply.
Class Approval Welding machines generally do not have universal individual class approval. Installation and onboard use may be subject to vessel requirements and acceptance by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify supply voltage, phase, frequency, earthing and generator capacity before connection. Use correctly rated welding and return cables, secure gas cylinders where applicable, and provide adequate ventilation and fire protection.
Maintenance Tips Keep air inlets, cooling fans and panels clean. Inspect cables, plugs, electrode holders, earth clamps and gas connections regularly. Check insulation, output performance and protective devices according to the manufacturer schedule.
Safety Notes Use an approved welding helmet, flame-resistant clothing, gloves and safety footwear. Control hot work with the vessel permit system, remove combustibles, provide fire watch and ventilation, and protect nearby personnel from arc radiation, fumes and electric shock.
