Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Hole saws generally do not have a dedicated marine product standard. Selection and use should follow the manufacturer's technical data, applicable power-tool instructions, and workplace tool-safety requirements. Arbor interfaces may be specified using common tool-holder dimensions.
Class Approval Classification society approval is generally not applicable to standard hole saws used as hand tools. Approval may apply to the installed cable glands, penetrations, or associated shipboard components rather than the cutting tool itself.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the saw type and diameter for the material and penetration requirement. Fit the correct arbor and pilot drill, secure the workpiece, use suitable cutting speed and lubricant, and remove swarf regularly. Verify that hidden cables, pipes, tanks, and structural members are not being damaged.
Maintenance Tips Clean teeth and arbor after use, remove chips, lightly protect carbon-steel components against corrosion, inspect for cracked bodies or damaged teeth, and replace worn pilot drills. Store hole saws dry and separated by size.
Safety Notes Wear eye protection, gloves suitable for handling sharp tools, hearing protection, and safety footwear. Use the drill side handle where applicable, avoid loose clothing, control torque reaction, and do not exceed the manufacturer's speed limits. Isolate electrical and hydraulic systems before cutting near them.
