Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Manual pipe cutters generally do not have a dedicated marine product certification. Product quality may be supported by manufacturer specifications and applicable occupational hand-tool safety requirements.
Class Approval Normally not subject to individual DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK type approval. Classification requirements may apply to the completed piping system and installation rather than to the hand tool.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select a cutter rated for the pipe material and outside diameter. Mark the cut, place the cutter squarely around the pipe, tighten gradually, and rotate the tool around the pipe. Deburr the cut end before assembly or welding.
Maintenance Tips Clean pipe residue and salt contamination after use. Keep the adjustment screw lightly lubricated, inspect the frame and rollers, and replace worn or damaged cutting wheels. Store dry to prevent corrosion.
Safety Notes Wear safety glasses and suitable gloves. Secure the pipe before cutting and keep hands clear of the cutting wheel. Confirm that the line is isolated, depressurized, drained and free of hazardous contents before cutting.
