Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common references include ISO 4032, DIN 934, ISO 898-2, ASTM A194 and ASTM F594, depending on nut type, material and application. Material certificates and traceability may be required for critical shipboard use.
Class Approval General-purpose nuts are not normally individually class-approved. For classed vessels, nuts used in safety-critical machinery, structural or piping assemblies may require approved material certificates and compliance with the applicable DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK rules.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify thread size, pitch, material, strength grade and compatibility with the mating bolt or stud. Clean threads, use suitable washers where required, and tighten to the specified torque using calibrated tools. Do not mix incompatible materials in corrosive environments.
Maintenance Tips Inspect for corrosion, looseness, thread damage and deformation during planned maintenance. Replace damaged or heavily corroded nuts with the same specification and grade. Recheck torque after machinery commissioning or significant vibration.
Safety Notes Use the specified grade and torque; do not substitute ordinary nuts in critical joints. Wear eye and hand protection during installation and removal. Isolate machinery and piping systems before working, and follow vessel lockout/tagout procedures.
