Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly designed and tested to EN 14492-2 for power-driven winches and hoists, EN 60204-32 for lifting-machine electrical equipment, and ISO 4301/FEM classifications where applicable. Exact compliance depends on manufacturer and installation.
Class Approval Individual hoists may be supplied with type approval, product certification or installation approval from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK when specified. Class acceptance depends on location, lifting duty, supporting structure and vessel requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify rated load, lift height, duty class, power supply and ambient conditions before installation. Confirm that beams, trolleys, foundations and supporting structures are rated for the hoist and dynamic loads. Align the rope and drum, connect protective earthing, and perform commissioning and load testing by qualified personnel.
Maintenance Tips Inspect wire rope, hook, latch, drum, sheaves, brake, gearbox, limit switches and controls at planned intervals. Lubricate according to the manufacturer instructions, check rope for corrosion, broken wires or deformation, and record inspections and load tests. Remove damaged hoists from service.
Safety Notes Never exceed the safe working load or use the hoist for personnel lifting unless specifically certified and configured for that purpose. Keep personnel clear of suspended loads, prevent side pulling, use approved lifting accessories, isolate power before maintenance, and follow the manufacturer manual and vessel safety procedures.
