Welding Connectors - General Stores, Hardware and Tools

Welding connectors are detachable cable couplings used to connect welding power cables to arc-welding machines, electrode holders, work clamps, and remote welding outlets. Marine versions are selected for robust mechanical construction and reliable electrical contact in shipyards and onboard repair work.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Welding Connectors for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification IEC 60974-12 covers coupling devices for welding cables. Actual conformity depends on the manufacturer and product configuration; verify the supplier declaration and applicable shipyard requirements.
Class Approval Individual welding connectors are not normally supplied with separate marine class approval. Where required, verify equipment approval or installation acceptance with DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or the vessel's nominated classification society.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the connector size for the welding cable cross-section and equipment current rating. Fit the cable using the specified crimping or soldering method, ensure correct polarity where applicable, and fully lock the coupling before energizing.
Maintenance Tips Inspect contacts, insulation, locking surfaces, and cable entry regularly. Remove oxidation and weld spatter, keep connections dry, and replace parts showing overheating, looseness, cracking, or damaged insulation.
Safety Notes Isolate and de-energize the welding power source before connecting or disconnecting. Do not exceed the connector current rating, use damaged connectors, or operate with exposed live contacts. Follow the vessel permit-to-work and hot-work procedures.
