Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Abrasive blasting hoses are commonly manufactured with reference to EN ISO 3861 or ISO 3861 requirements for rubber hoses for abrasive materials. Couplings and whip checks should comply with applicable shipyard, OSHA, and local workplace-safety requirements.
Class Approval Blasting hoses are generally not individually type-approved by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK. Use may be subject to shipyard procedures, flag-state requirements, and inspection of the complete blasting equipment arrangement.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the hose inside diameter and pressure rating for the blast machine, abrasive, nozzle, and compressor. Use compatible blast couplings, safety pins, gaskets, and whip checks. Fully insert and secure couplings, route the hose without sharp bends, and pressure-test before operation.
Maintenance Tips Inspect before each shift for cuts, bulges, abrasion, exposed reinforcement, coupling wear, and electrical continuity. Keep the hose clean and dry, avoid dragging over sharp edges, rotate hose ends when practical, and replace damaged or excessively worn sections.
Safety Notes Depressurize and isolate the blast machine before disconnecting the hose. Always use whip checks, coupling safety pins, suitable respiratory protection, protective clothing, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection. Do not use a hose with damaged reinforcement, failed couplings, or blocked passages.
