Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Application should follow the coating manufacturer's product data sheet, ISO 12944 guidance and ISO 8501-1 surface-preparation requirements. IMO PSPC certification applies only where the complete coating system is specifically approved for applicable ballast-tank service.
Class Approval Class acceptance is project- and product-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may accept coating systems when supported by manufacturer documentation, type approval or vessel specification requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm oil compatibility, operating temperature, immersion service and required dry-film thickness before ordering. Remove contamination and salts, abrasive-blast the steel, apply the specified stripe coat and spray coats, and observe mixing, induction, recoat and curing times.
Maintenance Tips Inspect during tank entry and planned dry-dock periods for blistering, rusting, cracking and mechanical damage. Clean contamination, prepare damaged areas to sound coating or bare steel, and repair with the approved compatible system.
Safety Notes Use the current safety data sheet and provide forced ventilation in enclosed tanks. Control ignition sources, use suitable respiratory and skin protection, verify atmosphere and oxygen levels, and follow enclosed-space entry, hot-work and hazardous-area procedures.
