Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Spray guns are generally selected against manufacturer specifications rather than marine class certification. Marine coating work commonly follows ISO 12944 for corrosion protection and applicable IMO PSPC requirements such as MSC.215(82) and MSC.244(83).
Class Approval Conventional spray guns normally do not carry independent DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK type approval. Class requirements usually apply to the coating system, surface preparation and inspection rather than the spray gun itself.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Connect the gun to a clean, dry compressed-air supply through a suitable regulator, filter and water separator. Select the fluid nozzle, air cap and pressure according to the coating manufacturer's technical data sheet. Ensure correct grounding where required for solvent-based coatings.
Maintenance Tips Flush the gun immediately after use with the coating manufacturer's approved solvent. Clean the air cap, nozzle and fluid passages without damaging precision surfaces. Lubricate specified moving parts and replace worn seals, needles and nozzles.
Safety Notes Use suitable respiratory, eye, skin and hearing protection. Provide effective ventilation and control ignition sources when spraying flammable coatings. Follow the coating safety data sheet, maintain required air pressure limits and use intrinsically safe equipment where specified.
