Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification ISO 12944 is commonly referenced for corrosion-protection coating systems. Product-specific technical data sheets and approvals must be checked; generic marine enamel is not automatically compliant with IMO PSPC requirements.
Class Approval Classification approval is product- and application-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, and ClassNK may accept or approve coating systems when supported by the manufacturer's documentation and the vessel specification.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Prepare the substrate by removing oil, salt, rust, loose paint, and contaminants. Apply the specified primer and intermediate coats, then apply enamel within the manufacturer's temperature, humidity, mixing, thinning, and overcoating limits.
Maintenance Tips Inspect for chalking, blistering, cracking, corrosion, and mechanical damage. Wash deposits with fresh water, abrade sound glossy surfaces, remove defective coating, spot-prime exposed metal, and apply compatible maintenance coats.
Safety Notes Review the safety data sheet before use. Provide ventilation, keep away from ignition sources, wear suitable gloves, eye protection, and respiratory protection, and observe solvent, flammability, and waste-disposal requirements.
