Ceramic Coating - Marine Paint and Painting Equipment

Marine ceramic coating is a thin, chemically resistant protective coating applied to painted metal, fiberglass, gelcoat, glass, and other vessel surfaces. It improves water repellency, gloss retention, UV resistance, and resistance to salt, staining, and fouling contamination.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Ceramic Coating for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Marine ceramic coatings are product-specific and should be evaluated against the manufacturer’s technical data sheet. Surface preparation may reference ISO 8501-1 and ISO 8503. ISO 12944 may provide general corrosion-protection guidance, but it does not automatically certify a ceramic coating system.
Class Approval No generic class approval applies to all marine ceramic coatings. DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register, BV, or other societies may accept a coating only when the specific product and application system have documented approval or project acceptance.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Remove salt, grease, oxidation, wax, and loose coating. Prepare the substrate as specified by the manufacturer, apply within the stated temperature and humidity limits, and observe required flash-off and curing times. Confirm compatibility with existing paint or gelcoat before full application.
Maintenance Tips Wash regularly with clean water and a compatible mild marine detergent. Avoid abrasive pads, aggressive solvents, and unauthorized waxes or polishes. Inspect periodically for wear, contamination, peeling, or loss of water repellency and reapply according to the product instructions.
Safety Notes Use the product safety data sheet, suitable gloves, eye protection, and respiratory protection where required. Provide adequate ventilation and keep away from ignition sources. Do not apply in enclosed spaces without approved ventilation, and observe curing and flammability precautions.
