Applicable Standards & Certification Wire brushes generally do not carry a marine type-approval certification. Surface preparation results may be specified by ISO 8501-1, ISO 8503, and the coating manufacturer's marine application instructions. Power-tool accessories should comply with applicable manufacturer and machinery safety requirements.
Class Approval Normally not subject to separate DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK type approval. Their use may be accepted as part of a class-approved coating or corrosion-control procedure.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select brush material compatible with the base metal and coating system. Fit power brushes securely to the correct tool, verify the rated RPM, and remove loose debris before applying primer or coating.
Maintenance Tips Inspect wires, hubs, handles, and mounting threads before use. Clean brushes after use, keep them dry, and replace them when wires are excessively worn, broken, contaminated, or deformed.
Safety Notes Wear eye or face protection, gloves, protective clothing, and suitable respiratory protection for dust or coating residues. Use guards on power tools, keep personnel clear of flying wires, and do not exceed the brush's rated speed.
