Paint Pressure Tanks - Marine Paint and Painting Equipment

Paint pressure tanks are compressed-air-operated vessels used to supply marine coating materials continuously to spray guns. They support uniform application of primers, anticorrosive coatings, topcoats, and other shipyard paint systems.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Pressure vessels may be designed and marked to ASME BPVC Section VIII, EN 13445, or the EU Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, depending on manufacturer and market. Spray equipment may also require applicable ATEX compliance for hazardous paint environments.
Class Approval Classification approval is not normally universal for paint pressure tanks. Where required for shipboard installation, acceptance may be subject to the applicable vessel class society, such as DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, or ClassNK, and the manufacturer's documentation.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install upright on a stable surface and connect only to an approved compressed-air supply. Fit the specified regulator, pressure gauge, safety relief valve, fluid hose, and spray equipment. Verify hose compatibility, grounding, and maximum working pressure from the nameplate and manual.
Maintenance Tips Depressurize completely before opening or servicing. Clean the tank, lid seal, fluid outlet, and hoses after each coating operation. Inspect the pressure gauge, relief valve, regulator, fittings, and vessel for corrosion, leaks, or damage. Follow the manufacturer's inspection and pressure-test intervals.
Safety Notes Never exceed the marked maximum working pressure or use an unapproved air source. Relieve air and material pressure before disconnecting hoses or opening the tank. Use suitable ventilation, respirators, protective clothing, and ignition-control measures for solvent-based coatings. Ground the equipment where required.
