Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification The mixer itself may not have a marine-specific standard. Coating preparation and application are commonly controlled by ISO 12944, ISO 8501, ISO 8502, ISO 8503 and SSPC-PA 1. Electrical equipment should carry applicable regional conformity approvals.
Class Approval Standalone paint mixers are not normally type-approved by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK. Class requirements generally apply to the approved coating system, fire safety, hazardous-area suitability and vessel installation rather than the mixer alone.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Place the mixer on a stable surface and verify that the shaft, blade and guard are correctly fitted. Select a blade suitable for the coating viscosity and container size. For pneumatic equipment, install a clean regulated air supply and ground or bond conductive components where required.
Maintenance Tips Clean shafts, blades and guards immediately after use with the coating manufacturer's approved solvent. Inspect seals, bearings, electrical cables, switches and pneumatic hoses regularly. Do not operate with damaged guards, excessive vibration or abnormal noise.
Safety Notes Review the coating safety data sheet before mixing. Provide ventilation and wear chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection and suitable respiratory protection. Use explosion-protected or pneumatic equipment where flammable vapors may be present, and prevent sparks, ignition sources and uncontrolled splashing.
