Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Compliance is product- and project-specific. Application should follow the manufacturer's technical data sheet, approved coating scheme and applicable ISO 12944 or owner specifications where relevant. No universal marine standard certifies all silicone coatings.
Class Approval Class approval is product- and vessel-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may accept approved coating systems when supported by manufacturer documentation and surveyor approval.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Apply only to properly prepared, clean and dry surfaces. Follow the specified primer, tie-coat and silicone topcoat sequence, mixing ratio, pot life, recoat interval and environmental limits. Use calibrated airless spray equipment and observe the manufacturer's dry-film thickness requirements.
Maintenance Tips Inspect during dry-docking for detachment, mechanical damage, cracking and excessive fouling. Clean using manufacturer-approved low-impact methods. Repair damaged areas with the specified compatible primer, tie-coat and silicone products.
Safety Notes Review the product safety data sheet before use. Provide ventilation and control ignition sources because coatings and solvents may be flammable. Wear chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, eye protection and suitable respiratory protection. Do not discharge coating residues or wash water into the sea.
