Composite Hoses - Pumps, Valves, Piping and Fittings

Composite hoses are flexible, multilayer hose assemblies used aboard ships for transferring fluids between pumps, valves, piping systems, tanks and shore connections. They are selected according to the conveyed medium, pressure, temperature, hose diameter and required end connections.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Composite Hoses for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification EN 13765 is commonly applicable to thermoplastic composite hoses and hose assemblies for hydrocarbons, solvents and chemicals. Product-specific conformity, material compatibility, electrical continuity and pressure testing must be verified from the manufacturer documentation.
Class Approval Classification approval is application- and project-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may accept or approve hose assemblies subject to type approval, service restrictions, testing and installation requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm hose material, pressure, temperature, electrical continuity and chemical compatibility before installation. Do not exceed the minimum bend radius. Support the hose to prevent twisting, sharp bends, excessive weight on couplings or contact with hot surfaces. Fit only correctly rated couplings and gaskets.
Maintenance Tips Inspect before use for cuts, abrasion, bulges, kinks, leakage, damaged covers and coupling movement. Check bonding or electrical continuity where required. Pressure-test and replace the hose according to manufacturer, vessel and class requirements. Keep capped, clean and protected from sunlight and incompatible chemicals during storage.
Safety Notes Isolate, depressurize and drain the system before disconnecting. Use hoses rated for the actual medium, pressure and temperature. Bond and earth conductive assemblies during flammable-fluid transfer where required. Wear suitable PPE and control ignition sources. Never use a hose with visible damage, expired inspection status or unknown service history.
