Equal Tees - Pumps, Valves, Piping and Fittings

An equal tee is a three-way pipe fitting with three outlets of the same nominal diameter. In marine systems, it is used to create branch connections in seawater, ballast, bilge, fire-main, fuel, cooling-water and utility piping.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Equal Tees for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable standards may include ASME B16.9 for wrought butt-weld fittings, ASME B16.11 for forged socket-weld and threaded fittings, ASME B16.3 for malleable iron fittings, EN 10253 for butt-weld fittings, and ISO 7-1 or ASME B1.20.1 for pipe threads. Material certificates may be supplied to EN 10204 3.1.
Class Approval Classification approval is project- and system-dependent. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may accept fittings when manufactured, tested and documented in accordance with the approved vessel piping design and applicable class rules.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify nominal size, material, pressure class, end connection and flow-medium compatibility before installation. Align all three branches without forcing the piping, remove debris, and use qualified welding, threading, flanging or grooved-connection procedures. Hydrostatic or pneumatic testing must follow the approved piping procedure.
Maintenance Tips Inspect accessible joints for leakage, corrosion, vibration damage and coating breakdown during routine rounds. Check supports and nearby pipe loads, and replace fittings showing cracks, severe wall loss, deformation or thread damage.
Safety Notes Isolate, drain, depressurize and, where necessary, gas-free the piping before removal or maintenance. Use materials compatible with the fluid, temperature and pressure. Follow hot-work permits, confined-space procedures and vessel safety requirements.
