ERW Pipes - Pumps, Valves, Piping and Fittings

Electric resistance welded (ERW) steel pipes are longitudinally welded tubular products used in shipboard utility, seawater, ballast, bilge, fire-main, cooling-water and piping systems. Selection depends on material grade, pressure, temperature, corrosion allowance and classification requirements.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply ERW Pipes for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common standards include ASTM A53/A53M, API 5L, EN 10217-1, EN 10255, ISO 3183 and relevant ASME B36.10M dimensions. Material certificates such as EN 10204 3.1 may be required. Applicable standard depends on service and class rules.
Class Approval Marine piping may require inspection or approval by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ClassNK or another vessel classification society. Requirements depend on piping system, pressure, temperature, material, weld procedure and vessel class notation.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify pipe grade, wall thickness, schedule, dimensions, pressure rating and certification before installation. Remove weld scale and contamination, align without forced loading, use compatible fittings and valves, and follow approved welding, grooving or threading procedures. Provide suitable corrosion protection.
Maintenance Tips Inspect periodically for external corrosion, coating damage, leakage, vibration and weld deterioration. Check supports and pipe clamps, maintain protective coatings, flush systems where required, and replace sections showing significant wall loss or cracking.
Safety Notes Depressurize, drain, isolate and verify zero energy before cutting or removing pipe. Use approved hot-work controls and gas testing where applicable. Confirm compatibility with the conveyed fluid and never exceed the pipe's rated pressure or temperature.
