Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly manufactured and tested to ISO 1704, IACS UR W18 and applicable classification-society rules for anchor chain accessories. Material certificates, dimensional inspection, proof-load testing and breaking-load qualification may be required.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm link size, grade and test certification match the existing chain. Clean mating faces, assemble parts in the correct orientation, fully seat the taper pin, and secure its recess with the specified lead pellet or approved locking arrangement.
Maintenance Tips Inspect regularly for wear, deformation, corrosion, cracks, loose locking material and pin movement. Measure worn sections during chain surveys and replace links exceeding vessel, maker or classification-society wear limits.
Safety Notes Do not mix incompatible sizes or grades, weld or heat the link without approved procedures, or reuse damaged locking components. Keep personnel clear of suspended or tensioned chain and use certified lifting equipment during handling.
