Eye Bolts - Deck Machinery and Hull Equipment

Marine eye bolts are threaded or through-bolted attachment points used for lifting, handling, securing and maintenance tasks on deck machinery and hull equipment. Lifting-rated forged shoulder eye bolts are selected according to load direction, working load limit and mounting material.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Eye Bolts for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Lifting eye bolts may conform to DIN 580, EN ISO 3266 or applicable ASME B30.26 requirements. Material certificates, proof-load records and traceability may be required by the vessel owner, flag administration or lifting-gear procedure.
Class Approval Acceptance may be required from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK when the eye bolt forms part of classified lifting equipment. Individual commercial eye bolts are not automatically class approved; certification must be verified for the supplied item.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm thread size, engagement depth, mounting material and working load limit. Seat the shoulder fully against a flat load-bearing surface, align the eye with the load and use approved washers and nuts for through-bolted types. Do not modify or weld unless specifically designed for welding.
Maintenance Tips Inspect before use for corrosion, cracks, bent shanks, damaged threads, wear and illegible markings. Keep threads clean, protect against marine corrosion and remove from service after overload, deformation or failed inspection.
Safety Notes Use only rated and traceable eye bolts for lifting. Never exceed the marked working load limit. Avoid shock loading and side loading of plain eye bolts; angular loading reduces allowable capacity. Do not use makeshift spacers or insert hooks that spread or distort the eye.
