Masts - Deck Machinery and Hull Equipment

Marine masts are fixed, folding, telescopic, or sailing structures supporting navigation lights, antennas, radar scanners, flags, sensors, and rigging. They are commonly fabricated from marine-grade aluminium, steel, stainless steel, or composites to vessel-specific structural and equipment requirements.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Masts for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include COLREG 1972 Annex I for navigation-light positioning, SOLAS Chapter V for navigation equipment, ISO 12215-10 for small-craft rig loads and attachments, and relevant ISO, EN, AWS, or class rules for structural design, welding, coatings, and electrical installation.
Class Approval Vessel-specific mast structures and foundations may be reviewed or approved by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ClassNK, RINA, or the vessel's governing class society. Approval scope depends on vessel type, mast loads, materials, equipment, and statutory requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify foundation strength, mast alignment, equipment clearances, navigation-light geometry, and access before installation. Use approved fasteners, stays, cable glands, grounding, lightning protection, and galvanic isolation. Torque connections to the manufacturer's or approved drawing requirements.
Maintenance Tips Regularly inspect welds, bolts, stays, hinges, platforms, coatings, drainage, cable penetrations, and corrosion-prone joints. Clean salt deposits, repair damaged coatings, lubricate folding mechanisms, and check rig tension and electrical bonding at scheduled intervals.
Safety Notes Isolate radar and radio transmitters and electrical supplies before work. Use certified fall protection and controlled working-aloft procedures. Do not climb or lower a mast in severe weather, and verify lifting points, center of gravity, and overhead clearances during handling.
