Crane Load Indicators - Deck Machinery and Hull Equipment

Crane load indicators monitor and display suspended load and, when configured as a rated-capacity system, compare it with the crane's allowable capacity. Marine versions use rugged sensors, displays, alarms and control outputs for deck, offshore and shipboard cranes.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Crane Load Indicators for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include EN 12077-2 for limiting and indicating devices, EN 13852-1 or API Spec 2C for offshore cranes, IEC 60529 for enclosure protection and IEC 60092 for shipboard electrical installations. Compliance depends on the complete crane configuration.
Class Approval Approval is normally assessed as part of the complete crane and vessel installation. Depending on vessel class and service, review or certification may be required by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install approved load, pressure, angle and length sensors in the OEM-specified positions. Use protected marine-grade cabling, verify power supply and control outputs, enter the correct crane load chart, and calibrate using certified test loads after installation.
Maintenance Tips Inspect sensors, pins, cables, connectors, displays and alarms for damage, corrosion or water ingress. Function-test warning and cut-off outputs regularly and recalibrate after sensor replacement, structural repair or any significant deviation.
Safety Notes Do not use the indicator as a substitute for the crane load chart, operator judgment or statutory inspections. Stop lifting if the display, sensor, alarm or limiter is faulty. Never bypass overload protection, and perform proof-load testing only under an approved procedure.
