Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Gear rating may be calculated to ISO 6336 or equivalent DIN/AGMA practices. Corrosion-protection systems may follow ISO 12944. Final applicable standards depend on duty, vessel specification, brake arrangement and manufacturer documentation.
Class Approval Marine winch gearbox installations may be supplied for project-specific review or certification by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK. Approval is not universal and must be verified for the selected model, duty cycle and vessel.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm rated line pull, drum torque, reduction ratio, duty cycle and brake capacity. Align the motor, gearbox and drum accurately; use specified fastener torque, lubricant grade, oil quantity and mounting orientation.
Maintenance Tips Check oil level, leakage, breathers, seals, mounting bolts, brake operation, noise and temperature. Replace lubricant and filters at manufacturer intervals and inspect gear teeth, bearings and brake plates during scheduled overhaul.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out hydraulic or electrical power before servicing. Secure the drum and suspended load, release stored pressure, and never exceed rated torque, line pull, speed or brake capacity.
