Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Shipboard welded steel bollards may be designed to ISO 13795 and applicable flag-state or class rules. Material, welding and coating standards depend on the vessel specification. Quay bollards are selected according to required mooring load and terminal design criteria.
Class Approval Shipboard bollard design, foundation, weld details and safe working load may require project-specific approval by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK. Classification approval is not automatic and must match the vessel and approved drawings.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install on approved deck or foundation reinforcement. Align the bollard for expected line leads, use specified welds or anchor bolts, and verify foundation strength and coating repair after installation.
Maintenance Tips Inspect regularly for cracking, deformation, corrosion, coating loss, loose fasteners and foundation damage. Renew protective coatings and carry out weld or load inspections according to the vessel maintenance plan.
Safety Notes Do not exceed the marked safe working load. Keep personnel outside mooring line snap-back zones and never stand between a tensioned line and the bollard. Replace or repair damaged fittings only under approved procedures.
