Applicable Standards & Certification Lifting hooks may comply with EN 1677, ISO 7597, ASME B30.10 or applicable manufacturer standards. Lifeboat and rescue-boat hooks must meet relevant SOLAS and IMO Life-Saving Appliances Code requirements. Compliance depends on hook type, model and intended duty.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm the required working load limit, hook geometry and connection size. Install using approved pins, shackles or fasteners, maintain correct load alignment and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Function-test latches and release mechanisms before service.
Maintenance Tips Inspect regularly for cracks, corrosion, deformation, throat opening, wear and damaged latches. Lubricate pivots and release parts where specified. Remove any hook with illegible markings or defects from service and perform periodic examination by competent personnel.
Safety Notes Never exceed the marked working load limit or side-load, tip-load or shock-load the hook. Do not weld, heat, grind or reshape a hook unless expressly approved. Keep personnel clear of suspended loads and verify positive engagement before lifting or towing.
